These small, lightweight, full-range, single-conversion receivers are being marketed through RC-Direct. *DSP = Digital Signal Processing using a microprocessor computer chip. All
Berg receivers meet or exceed all requirements of the AMA with respect
to narrow-band operation and range and have been tested to meet FCC requirements
with respect to radiation levels. Berg-4*DSP "Micro Stamp" Receiver This member of the Berg Receiver family is described as being "about as small as a stamp and almost as light." It was introduced in late spring, 2002, and features the following:
The Berg-5*DSP II is the best in state of the art performance to be found in a five-channel R/C receiver available today. Its small, lightweight size is due to the surface mount technology used throughout. The Transmitter Signature Recognition ("TSR") of the receiver learns the characteristics, or signature, of the transmitter, and this makes it compatible with all brands of FM transmitters. The first four of the five output channels are fixed, and the fifth output port is programmable to be either channel 5 or channel 6 with two jumpers. This small, lightweight receiver is a full-range, no-compromise, super narrow-band receiver using Digital Signal Processing ("DSP") in the servo pulse decoder for optimum performance in even the worst RF environments. By itself, this receiver weighs only 9.5 grams. It is packaged in a strong, lightweight, fuel-proof, case (3.5 grams). It is available in servo pins UP (vertical pins) and servo pins OUT (horizontal pins) configurations. To save weight, some people take the receiver out of its case and protect it with thin heat-shrink material. To facilitate this, we have designed a special antenna restraint into the receiver. This does not mean that you can pull all you want on the antenna, but it is a vast improvement over what we have seen thus far in the industry. Specifications:
This
revolutionary,
brand-spanking-new
product was introduced in the spring of 2003. Anyone with a Berg-5*DSP
receiver can now expand its channel
count to 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9! Just plug this device into the plug marked
"BATT" on the 5-channel receiver, then plug your battery into
any unused channel on the -5 or on the -XP, or, if all channels are
being
used, find yourself a Y-connector.

Berg-5*DSP receiver with a Berg 9XP* 9-channel
expander plugged in Berg-6 Mini Receiver The Berg-6 Mini has been replaced by the Berg-6*G III. Berg-6*G III Receiver with TSR, FS and DSP The Berg-6*G III (Generation III) receiver is the best in state of the art performance to be found in any six-channel R/C receiver available today. Its small, lightweight size is due to the surface mount technology used throughout. The Transmitter Signature Recognition ("TSR") of the receiver learns the characteristics, or signature, of the transmitter; and this makes it compatible with all brands of FM transmitters. The Berg-6*G III receiver has features found in no other receiver on the market today, such as Fail Safe ("FS") or signal hold, auto-detection modulation polarity shift, and programmable channel 5 or 7. Advanced ultra narrow-band circuitry design that deals directly with most types of interference found in our R/C world lets you fly worry-free and makes the Berg-6*G III receiver one of the most stable receivers on the market today. Radios with frequency synthesizers are not compatible with this receiver.
However,
all transmitters with the Hitec
Spectra Module
are fine. The default settings on Berg-6*G III are: Flywheel Hold Mode
ON, Fail-Safe Mode OFF, and Channel 5 output on output port 5. Transmitter
and included two jumpers are required for programming.
